Richard “Dick” Miller, 79, of 221 Villa Nova Blvd, Saint Marys, died 7:06 P.M. Saturday, February a5, 2011, at his residence.

He was born May 8, 1931, in Napoleon, Ohio, the son of Wilbur and Helen (Gerkin) Miller.

He married Jessie Elaine Deuel on February 26, 1955 and she preceded him in death on October 29, 1992. 

He is survived by his five children: Douglas (Marianne) Miller of Columbus, Ohio; Larry Miller of Saint Marys; Linda (Bruce) Zimmerman of Saint Marys; Judy (John Bricker) McDermitt of Saint Marys; Sue (Steve) Koenig of New Bremen; by 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; by a sister-in-law, Phyllis Cook of Saint Marys; a brother-in-law, Dick Boehning of Florida. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; four brothers: Bill Miller; Wilbur Miller, Jr; Leroy Miller; and Gale Miller; by two sisters: Arlene Reimers and Katheryn Boehning; by a granddaughter, Rebecca Koenig. 

Dick was a 1950 graduate of Saginaw High School in Saginaw, Michigan. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Saint Marys after many years of service. He enjoyed hunting, target shooting, fishing and working crossword puzzles. He will be remembered as a wonderful father and grandfather. 

Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 10, 2011, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, the Reverend Jon Kraner, officiant. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be directed to the Becky Koenig Memorial Scholarship Fund.
