Walter N. Miley, 82, of 208 Parkway Drive, Saint Marys, Ohio, died Friday, September 2, 2011, at his residence.

He was born March 10, 1929, in Wapakoneta, Ohio, to Harry S. and Florence (Koehl) Miley.

On September 29, 1951, he married Rita M. Axe and she survives at the residence.

He is survived by a son, Mark Miley of Saint Marys; a daughter, Susan (Mickey) Walker of North Judson, Indiana; two brothers: Charles (Grace) Miley of Adrian, Michigan; Harry (Margaret) Miley of Saint Marys; sister-in-law, Hazel Miley of Davenport, Iowa; two grandsons, Shawn and Joshua Walker; by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Daniel Paul Miley; a brother, James Miley; a daughter-in-law, Lorna Miley.

Walter was a 1947 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School.

Mr. Miley was retired after 36 years in the Engineering Department at American Telephone and Telegraph Co., Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Saint Marys.

Funeral rites will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, Father Anthony Cutcher, officiant. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.

Friends may call from noon until the time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home, where memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be given to Friends of Holy Rosary Church.
