James A. Miley, 56, of 505 McKinley Road, Saint Marys, Ohio, died suddenly at his residence on Friday, May 23, 2008.

He was born March 15, 1952, in Celina, Ohio, the son of Harry and Margaret (Dolph) Miley. They survive in Saint Marys.

He married Cheryl Stoker on March 24, 1973; she survives at the residence.

He is survived by his four children: Melissa (Christopher) Sturgill of Saint Marys; Julie (Scott) Morgan of Saint Marys; Peggy (Darren Jurosic) Miley of Wapakoneta; James Miley of New Bremen; by ten grandchildren: Cody, Mitchell, Garrett, Mason, Sarah, Jenna, Seth, Andrea, Lainie and Jewel; by two brothers: Jack (Cindy) Miley of Celina; George David (Connie) Miley of Saint Marys; by his mother-in-law, June Stoker of Wapakoneta.

Jim was a 1970 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. He was employed at Crown Equipment Corporation, where he had worked more than 25 years. He was a bass player and singer and had played in various local bands over the years including Wild Hearts and Crossroads; he was a big fan of blues music. He loved Civil War history and traveling to Civil War battlefields; he was a fan of the Cleveland Browns and he enjoyed spending time at Grand Lake St. Marys. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Saint Marys.

Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, the Reverend Anthony Cutcher officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.

Friends may call 4-8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be directed to Friends of the Saint Marys Library.
