Robert E. Miars of 1022 Edward Street, St.Marys, OH died Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the St.Marys Living Center after a short illness. 

He was born in St.Marys, OH on Nov. 13, 1930, the son of Vernon O. and Emma (Rohrbach) Miars.

Daughter, Susan A. (Kenneth) Davis of St.Marys, OH

Daughter, Linda A. (John) Klosterman of St.Marys, OH

4 grandchildren: Christopher (Melinda) Davis, Amy (Craig) Bowersock, Adam Klosterman, Matthew (Kyleigh) Klosterman

4 great-grandchildren:  Sydney and Drew Davis, Lucy and Wesly Klosterman

Former wife, Mary Jane Miars of St.Marys, OH 

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steven E. Miars; brothers Gail, Orville and Melvin Miars; sister, Virginia Burden. 

Bob was a 1949 graduate of Memorial High School, St.Marys, OH.  He was a retired production employee of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in St.Marys.  He had also retired from URW Local #200 where he was employed in receiving and was an inventory storekeeper/auditor.   

He was a member of the Sons of American Legion #323, a social member of VFW #9289 and was a member of Eagles Lodge #767.  He was an avid reader of history particularly anything pertaining to WWII military history.  He enjoyed going to garage sales and loved going to breakfast with his friends.  He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be held 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 5 at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 St. Rt.703, St. Marys, OH.
