Carl Metzger, Jr., 79, of 3651 US South, Lot 143, Sebring, FL and formerly of St.Marys, OH died December 16,2007at Florida Hospital in Orlando, FL. 

He was born May 17,1928 in Columbus, OH, the son of Carl and Mabel (Smart) Metzger. 

He married Beatrice Overley on December 23, 1950; she survives at the residence. 

He is survived by:

¨ Daughter, Connie (Eldon) Stolzenburg, Jr., St.Marys, OH

¨ Daughter, Annemarie (Robert) Stolzenburg, St.Marys, OH

¨ Son, Dennis (Emma) Metzger, St.Marys, OH

¨ 7 grandchildren

¨ 16 great-grandchildren

¨ Sister, Sally (Donet) Shaw, Wapakoneta, OH

¨ Brother, Joseph (Ivy) Metzger, Wapakoneta, OH 

He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers: Jim, Jerry and Franklin Metzger; by one sister, Flossie Minnich. 

He was a veteran of the United States Navy,  Carl retired from the Goodyear Tire Company in St.Marys, OH where he had been a production worker. 

He was a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church in St.Marys, OH and the Computer Club in Sebring.  He was a member of VFW Post 9289 in St.Marys.  He enjoyed fishing.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2007 at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 W. High St., St.Marys, OH.  Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, St.Marys, OH.

Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be directed to the American Diabetes Foundation or the American Heart Fund.
