Jessie May Mechling, 87, formerly of 313 N. Main Street in St.Marys, OH died Saturday December 16, 2006 at the Patrician Health Care Center in North Royalton, OH.

She was born May 7, 1919 in Gomer, OH to Hugh & Grace (Manuel) Griffith.

On September 15, 1940 she married Harold E. Mechling, who died July 26, 1979.

Survivors include:

· Daughter, Diane (Malcolm) Baumgardner of North Royalton, OH

· Daughter, Mari-Ellen (Dennis) Bobel of Plymouth, MN

· Daughter-in-law, Linda Mechling of Van Wert, OH

· Eight grandchildren: Amy, Beth, Gretchen, Aaron, Erika, Matthew, Eric & Bradley

· Ninegreat-grandchildren, who referred to her as “Mamge“ : Jacob, Michael, Hannah, Megan, Joey, Tommy, Nicholas, Gwendolyn & Sydney

· Sister, Nina Redmon of Delphos, OH

· Sister-in-law, Mary Griffith of Levittown, PA

· Numerous nieces, nephews & friends

She was preceded in death by: parents, husband, son Thomas Mechling in 1994, brother Percy “Jerry” Griffith, brother Paul Grifith, sister Margaret Kizer, sister Norma McGuire.

She was a graduate of the Gomer High School.

She retired from the Joint Twp. District Memorial Hospital in St.Marys, where she had been a registration clerk in the emergency department. Along with her husband, she owned & operated the former Harold’s Flowers in downtown St.Marys for a number of years.  She was a long-time member of the Wayne Street United Methodist Church in St.Marys, where she sang in the choir. She was also a member of the St.Marys Music Club.

She was especially proud of her Welsh heritage, and her many travels were highlighted with a trip to Wales.

Private family services will be held, and a public celebration of her life will be announced in the future.

Final resting place is the Elm Grove Cemetery in St.Marys.
