David J. McEvoy, 53, of 11539 Chickasaw Path in Lakeview, OH died 6:35 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at the Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, OH. 

He was born June 24,1955 in St.Marys, OH, to Leo H. and Patricia A.(Peterson) McEvoy. 

His survivors include:

¨ Sister, Ruth Ann Nelson of Glynwood, OH

¨ Sister, Katherine (Gregory) Amerine of Zanesfield, OH

¨ Sister, Betty Jo (Gene) Anderson of Murfreesboro, TN

¨ Sister, Patricia (Donald Hawker) McEvoy of St.Petersburg, FL

¨ Sister, Colene (Jim) Phillips of Providence,RI

¨ Brother, Thomas McEvoy of Mamou, LA

¨ Brother, Matthew (Sandy) Peters of Bellefontaine, OH

¨ Step-father, Larry Peters of West Liberty, OH 

He was preceded in death by his father, Leo McEvoy, mother Patricia Peters, and brother Max Peters. 

He had attended schools in both the Indian Lake and St.Marys School District.  He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the 101st Airborne Division. 

He had worked as a general laborer and was a member of Eagles Lodge Aerie #3615 at Indian Lake.  He enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time with his family.

Services are scheduled 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home (High Street Chapel) in St.Marys, OH, with the Rev. Phil Masters, officiating. Burial, with military rites performed by VFW Post #9289 will follow at the Gethsemane Cemetery in St.Marys.

Visitation will be held after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home on 314 West High Street, St.Marys, OH.
