Clara Louise McDermitt, 80, of 14090 Glynwood-New Knoxville Road, St.Marys, OH died 8:25 a.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at Joint Township Memorial Hospital in St.Marys, OH. 

She was born August 8, 1928 in Washington Township, Auglaize County, OH, the daughter of George and Sophia (Vohs) Clausing, Jr. 

She married Donald McDermitt on May 8, 1948; he preceded her in death on December 20, 1995. 

She is survived by:

¨ Daughter, Kathleen (Larry) Lunz of Uniopolis, OH

¨ Son, Thomas (Pat) McDermitt of Celina, OH

¨ Dave McDermitt of St.Marys, OH

¨ 4 grandchildren:  Heather (Steve) Hoffman of Celina, OH, Theresa (Adam) Friemoth of Uniopolis, OH, James McDermitt of Celina, OH, Edward Lunz of Uniopolis, OH

¨ 1 great-grandchild, Brandon Hoffman of Celina, OH 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Marie Nuss and by an infant grandson, Todd Nolte. 

Clara was a 1946 graduate of St.Marys Memorial High School.  She and her late husband Don owned and operated Don’s Paint and Body Repair Shop for 35 years in St.Marys.  She was a member of St.Paul’s United Church of Christ, Women’s Guild of the Church, Rural Women’s Club, and the Auglaize-Mercer Multiple Sclerosis Support Group.  She loved cooking and doing needlework.

Funeral rites will be held 10:30 Saturday, August 30, 2008 at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, St.Marys, Oh, Pastor Judy Ball, officiant. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, St.Marys, OH.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home where memorial donations may be directed to the Auglaize-Mercer Multiple Sclerosis Support Group.
