Gloria J. McCann, 83, of 1030 Williams Street in St.Marys, OH died 9:05 p.m. Wednesday April 8, 2009 at her residence following an extended illness.

She was born march 28, 1926 in Celina, OH to Harland and Florence Elizabeth (Moyer) Burgett.

On July 20, 1946 in St.Marys, she married Eldon N. “Mick” McCann, who died July 11, 2000.

She is survived by: 

Son, Michael (Joyce) McCann of Minster, OH

Daughter, Kathleen Craft of St.Marys, OH

6 grandchildren: Jennifer Roby, Kristi Turner, Derek (Jill) Turner, . Whitney (Bart) Rinehart, Britney Craft, Charlie . McCann

11 great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her father, Harland Burgett; mother, F. Elizabeth Limbacher; husband, Eldon “Mick” McCann; granddaughter, Brandie Marie Turner; son-in-law, Dick Craft

She was a 1943 graduate of Memorial High School in St.Marys and she also graduated from the Miami-Jacobs Business College in Dayton, OH.

She was a member of the St.Paul’s United Church of Christ, Eagles Lodge Aerie # 767, American Legion Post # 323 and VFW Post # 9289 auxiliaries, all in St.Marys.

She enjoyed stamp collecting, reading, cross-stitch, fishing and gambling. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with family and friends.

Services are scheduled at 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2009, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road in St.Marys, with the Rev. Ed Bray, officiating. Private family burial will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery, in St.Marys.

Friends may call from 5-7:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home, where memorial contributions may be directed to either: St.Marys Community Public Library, Auglaize Co. Humane Society, St.Paul’s UCC, American Heart Fund or the Auglaize County Cancer Association
