Willis “Matt” Matthews, 58, 1010 Kimberly Drive, St.Marys, OH, died suddenly on June 8, 2007 at his residence.

He was born June 15, 1948 in Springfield, OH, the son of William and Ruth (Payton) Matthews.

He is survived by his life partner, Carol Weadock, with whom he made his residence. 

He is also survived by:

· Daughter, Jennie (Jason) Getz, Springfield, OH

· Carol’s daughter, Barb (Bill) Rosetti, Anchorage, AK

· Carol’s son, Kevin (Kim) Weadock, Celina, OH

· 9 grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers,  William and Michael Matthews.

Matt was a graduate of Springfield Catholic Central High School.  He joined the United States Air Force and served two tours of duty in Viet Nam.  He retired from the United States Air Force with the rank of Tech Sergeant. He later worked as a truck driver and most recently at AAP Corporation in St.Marys.

Matt loved playing golf and spending time with his grandchildren.  He loved Notre Dame football.  He was a life member of VFW Post 9289 in St.Marys.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Rd., St.Marys, OH.  Military Burial Rites will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home in St.Marys, where memorial donations may be directed to the American Heart Association.
