Norman Martin, 91, of 601 Linden Avenue, St.Marys, OH, died 4:00 A.M. Thursday, November 22, 2007, at his residence.
He was born December 14, 1915, near Deep Cut, the son of Archelous and Irene (Baker) Martin. 

He married Florence McDermitt on June 26, 1939; she preceded him in death on February 12, 1989. He married Marvelee Persinger on February 23, 1990 and she survives at the residence.

¨ Step-son,  Bruce (Toni) Persinger of St.Marys, OH

¨ 15 grandchildren

¨ 32 great-grandchildren

¨ Sister, Mary Carmean of St.Marys, OH

¨ Sister, Cleona Layton of Spencerville, OH 

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: John, Pete and Carl Martin; three sisters: Kathryn McPheron, Ruth Dersham and Eunice Shock; by a grandson, Jaysen Martin; a great-granddaughter, Alissa Martin. 

Norman was a 1935 graduate of Spencerville High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in the underwater demolition team in WWII.  

He retired from the Westinghouse Electric Company in Lima after 33 years of service. He enjoyed traveling and made trips to 49 of the United States; he liked playing cards, working in his yard, caring for animals and spending time with his family.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St.Marys, OH, the Rev. Mary Kay Brown officiating.  Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be directed to the Wayne Street United Methodist Church Building Fund.
