J. Maxine Magoon, 89, a resident of Otterbein St.Marys Retirement Community, St.Marys, Oh and formerly of Findlay, died 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 16,2008 at Otterbein St.Marys.

She was born May 19,1919 in Steubenville, OH, the daughter of Marshall and Margaret (Walker) Cooper.

She married Robert Ashley Magoon on April 12, 1940; he survives at Otterbein St.Marys Retirement Community.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Magoon McGowan of Phillips, Maine; by two grandchildren:  James King III of Westerville,OH and Anna Margaret King-Beaulier (AJ) Of Straton, Maine; by a great-granddaughter, Sara Beaulier.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Maxine was a 1937 graduate of Findlay High School, Findlay, OH and she attended Findlay College.  She retired from the Findlay Public Library, where she worked the front desk for many years.

She was a member of St.Andrews United Methodist Church in Findlay. She enjoyed traveling and reading.

Private family funeral services will be held in Phillips, Maine.
