Anthony P. Mackenzie, 18, of 1110 W. Spring St., St. Marys died at approximately 5:45 AM Monday, June 29, 2009 at the scene of a single car accident near Tri Township Road and Southland Road in Auglaize County.
Anthony was born October 25, 1990 in Dayton, OH the son of Mike Mackenzie and Julie Ross.
He is survived by his parents: Mike (Jennifer Bush) Mackenzie, St. Marys and Julie (Bill Fitzgerald) Ross, St. Marys; brother, Alex Mackenzie, St. Marys, OH; maternal grandparents: Paul (Shirley) Ross, Chauncey, OH and paternal grandparents: Robert (Carolyn) Mackenzie, Dayton, OH.
He was preceded in death by his aunt, Julie Ann Mackenzie.
Anthony attended Dayton Queen of Martyrs and St. Marys Holy Rosary elementary schools. He was a 2009 graduate of Memorial High School where his course work included the Tri Star Computer Networking program, the field of study that he was set to begin next year at the Rhodes State College in Lima. He was currently employed at K Mart as a cashier. His passions included music and extreme sports. He was a self taught guitarist and an avid skate boarding and paint ball enthusiast. He enjoyed sports and participated in CYO basketball, club soccer and he was on the bowling and tennis teams while at MHS. He liked to fish and greatly enjoyed the company of his many friends. His personality and interests crossed the lines of many groups and he blended them into one. He valiantly battled cystic fibrosis all his life and he accomplished each goal that he established for himself. Anthony loved his family and he lived each day to the fullest. He will be truly missed.
Anthony was a member of Holy Rosary Church in St. Marys.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 3, 2009 at 10:30AM at the Wayne St. Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Weatherly officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery with interment blessing by Father Anthony Cutcher.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 2, 2009 at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM
