Berkley “Cubby” Mabry, 56, of 932 Hendricks Avenue, Saint Marys, died suddenly at 7:48 A.M. Tuesday, February 2, 2010, in the emergency department of Joint Township Hospital in Saint Marys.

He was born October 9, 1953, in Louisa, Kentucky, the son of Berkley and Liddie (Newsome) Mabry.

He married Linda Carroll on July 14, 1973. She survives in Saint Marys and while they later divorced, they remained good friends.

He is also survived by his two children: Jeff Mabry of Saint Marys; Frances (Shawn) Schoonover of Saint Marys; by four grandchildren: Sarah Mabry; Mitchell Mabry; Trent Schoonover and Lilly Schoonover; by his siblings: Gary (Colista) Kitchen of Saint Marys; Aaron Spillman of Owingsville, Kentucky; Judy (Sherman) Henderson of Saint Marys; Jeff (Gail) Mabry of Melrose, Florida; Reverend Robert (Tammy) Mabry of Saint Marys; Joe (Jamie) Mabry of Saint Marys; James (Shelia) Tackett of Saint Marys.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by one brother, Odus Mabry.

Cubby attended high school in Olive Hill, Kentucky. He was an employee of the Saint Marys Foundry, where he worked in the maintenance department. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play sports.

Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 6, 2010, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, with his brother, Reverend Robert Mabry, officiant. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
