J. Gale Lutz, 70, of 260 North Spruce Street, Saint Marys, died 9:21 P.M. Friday, June 24, 2011, at her residence.

She was born October 20, 1940, in Printer, Kentucky, the daughter of Morton “Shikepoke” and Edythe “Lak“ (Hagans) McGlothen.

She married Kenneth Lutz on September 9, 1960 and he survives at the residence.

She is also survived by her three children: Lori Lutz (Partner Sue Cisar) of Marietta, Ohio; Steven (Lori) Lutz of Liberty Twp, Ohio; Kendra Lutz of Greenfield, Indiana; by six grandchildren: Mary Lutz; Grace Lutz; Philip Lutz; Thomas Lutz; Elena Lutz and Jaqueline Lutz; by a step-grandson, Mike Young; by three step-great grandchildren: Cameron, Carlie and Hayli; by her siblings: Parker (Ruth) McGlothen of Saint Marys; her twin brother, Dale (Elsie) McGlothen of Saint Marys; Jim (Valerie) McGlothen of Portage, Indiana; Jerry (Roberta) McGlothen of Saint Marys.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Gale was a 1960 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. He had formerly worked at Goodyear Saint Marys and had worked at Big Bear Grocery Store in Saint Marys for 21 years.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Saint Marys, where she had been a Bible school teacher. She had been a volunteer with the Ohio Reads Program at West School in Saint Marys.

Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 30, 2011, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, Ohio, the Reverend Bill Maki, officiant. Private family burial rites will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be directed to either the Diabetes Foundation or Auglaize County Cancer Association.
