Barbara J. Loffer, 79, of 801 West North Street, Saint Marys, died 2:50 A.M. Thursday, April 1, 2010, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in Saint Marys.

She was born December 21, 1930, the daughter of John and Lucille (Rose) Van Cleve.

She married Richard Loffer on May 19, 1951 and he survives at the residence.

She is also survived by her three children: Craig (Susan) Loffer of Saint Marys; Scott (Pam) Loffer of Princeton, West Virginia; Jodi (Kumar) Sivagnanam of Saint Marys; by nine grandchildren: Craig (Lora) Loffer, Jr. of Springfield, Ohio; Heather Loffer of Alger, Ohio; Aimee Loffer of Rockhill, South Carolina; Jeremy Loffer of Princeton, West Virginia; Christine (Jeremy) Dammeyer of Saint Marys; Chad (Corinne) Porter of Grove City, Ohio; Priya Sivagnanam of Saint Marys; Ambika Sivagnanam of Saint Marys; and Sarika Sivagnanam of Siant Marys; by two great-grandchildren: Drew Dammeyer and Austin Loffer; by two sisters: Marjorie Urhammer of Bowling Green, Ohio; Marilee (David) Hitchen of Genoa, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Joan Nagel.

Barbara was a graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. She attended the University of Northwestern Ohio. She retired from Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, where she was a medical transcriptionist.

She enjoyed reading, music, gardening, and spending time with her family. She attended Saint Marys Assembly of God Church.

Funeral rites will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, Pastor John Nunnally, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be directed to Agape Ministries in Saint Marys.
