Ruth A. Liette, 87, formerly of 1215 Kimberly Drive in St. Marys, OH died 3:25 p.m. Tuesday June 22, 2010 at JTDM Hospital in St. Marys.

She was born April 29, 1923 in St. Marys, OH to Otis and Nora (Koehn) Fannon, Sr.

On July 1, 1940, she married Wilfred C. “Bill” Liette, who died January 4, 2010.

She is survivored by:

• Son, William (Jean) Liette of Tipp City, OH
• 8 grandchildren: Ronda (John) Black, Brian (Jamie) Liette, Tara (Phil) Ciulla, James C. . (Angie) Liette, Katherine (Nick) Stute, Timothy A. (Diane) Liette, . . . Justin Liette, Alex Liette
• 13 great-grandchildren: Eric Black, Lydia Black, Garret Liette, Conner Liette,
• Sophia Ciulla, Isabella Ciulla, Jacob Liette, Joseph Liette,
• Nicole Stute, Rachel Stute, Molly Stute, Taylor Liette,
• Abigail Liette
• Numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Otis and Nora Fannon, Sr; husband, Wilfred C. “Bill” Liette; a daughter, Judith Ann Liette; a brother Otis Fannon Jr.; two infant sisters.

She retired from Joint Twp. District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys, where she worked in the central supply and sterilization department. A farm wife, she also assisted in the operation of the family farm on the south side of Grand Lake St. Marys.

She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys.

Ruth was a very devoted and loving mother and a compassionate friend to all. Her faith and her family were the cornerstones of her life. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Other favorite pastimes included fishing and playing cards. An excellent cook, she was well-known for her fried chicken.

Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled 11:00 a.m. Monday June 28, 2010 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 511 E. Spring Street in St. Marys, with the Rev. James Seibert, celebrant. Burial will follow at the Gethsemane Cemetery, in St. Marys.

Visitation for family and friends will be held  2 - 5 p.m. Sunday and 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home & Cremation Service 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West) in St. Marys.
