Gary L. Liette, 61, of 02561 Greenville Road in rural St.Marys, OH died 10:26 p.m. Monday January 5, 2009 in the emergency department at the JTDM Hospital, following a sudden illness.

He was born August 29, 1947 in Celina, OH to Norbert and Marcella “Sally” (Borgert) Liette.

On February 14, 1998, he married Susan Kay McKinney, who survives.

• sister-in-law, Maureen (Mark) Liette-Franzer of St.Marys, OH
• mother-in-law, Barbara Braun of Monroe, IN

He was preceded in death by: parents, brother Roger Liette, father-in-law Richard Braun

He was a 1965 graduate of Memorial High School in St.Marys.  He was a life-long grain, dairy and swine farmer.  He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and Eagles Lodge Aerie # 767, both in St.Marys, and the American Trapshooters’ Association.

An avid outdoorsman, Gary enjoyed trapshooting, fishing, golfing and all types of hunting. He was also an enthusiastic supporter of both Ducks Unlimited and Pheasants Forever.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled 10:30 a.m. Saturday January 10, 2009 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church 511 E. Spring Street in St.Marys, with the Rev. Anthony E. Cutcher, celebrant. Burial will follow at the Gethsemane Cemetery, in St.Marys.

Visitation for family and friends will be held 2 - 8 p.m. Friday and 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Miller Funeral Home (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St.Marys.
