Bernard “Ed” Lengerich, 83, of 213Lynn St., St.Marys, OH, died1:15 p.m. Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at the St.Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, OH.
He was born January 30,1924 in St.Marys, OH to Bernard and Elizabeth (Arnett) Lengerich.
On May 17,1958 in San Bernardino, CA, he married Elizabeth “Betty” Klosterman, who survives.
He is also survived by:

¨ Daughter, Carol (Chad) Fenske, Florence, KY
¨ 7 grandchildren: Kayla, Brooke, Stewart and Mitchell Lengerich; Kira, Elizabeth and Kaitlyn Fenske
¨ Sister, Elizabeth Hauenstein, Lima, OH
¨ Step-son, John (Rebecca) Petkus, Bushnell, FL
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John and Clarence Lengerich; sisters, Mary Willoughby and Loretta Lengerich; grandsons, Cole and Will Smyth.
He was a 1941 graduate of Memorial High School in St.Marys, OH. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps, having served in WWII. Mr. Lengerich retired as a production foreman from the Crown Equipment Corp. in New Bremen, OH.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, American Legion Post #323 and VFW Post #9289, all in St.Marys. He enjoyed tinkering in his workshop (especially with his metal lathe) and spending time with his grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2008 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 511 E. Spring St., St.Marys, OH, with the Rev.Anthony E. Cutcher officiating. Burial, with graveside military rites, will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery in St.Marys.
Visitation for family and friends will be held 4 - 8 p.m. Friday and 9:30 - 10:15 Saturday at the Miller Funeral Home, Ohio 703 West Chapel, St.Marys, OH. Memorial donations may be directed to the United Leukodystrophy Foundation or Friends of Holy Rosary Church.
