Ruth B. Kuck, 94, of 220 West Spring Street, New Knoxville, Ohio, died 8:55 P.M. Sunday, October 18, 2009, at her home.
She was born February 4, 1915, in Auglaize County, Ohio, the daughter of William and Amana (Feil) Katterhenry.
She married Sylvanus Kuck on February 14, 1936, and he preceded her in death on September 24, 1984.
She is survived by her two children: Ella Mae Benning of Versailles, Ohio; Robert (Cindy) Kuck of Celina; by 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; by a sister-in-law, Adella Wilson of Jackson Center; by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Kenneth Kuck; two brothers: Paul and Oliver Katterhenry; a sister, Ella Katterhenry.
Ruth was a 1932 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. She had worked at Brookside Labs in New Knoxville for many years. She was well known as the former church organist at the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville, a position she held for 49 years. She was a wonderful musician and a very friendly person.
She enjoyed playing both the piano and organ; sewing, making afghans, and doing needlework. She immensely enjoyed being with her family. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville.
Funeral rites will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday, October 22, 2009, at the First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville, the Reverend Charles McDonald, officiant. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. Wednesday, October 21, 2009, in the Heritage Room of the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville, where memorial donations may be given to the Radio Broadcast Fund of the church.
