Diane Sue Koons, 70, of 1815 Winston Drive, Saint Marys, died 5:40 A.M. Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in Saint Marys.

She was born Thursday, September 5, 1940, in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of William and Eldora (Hughes) Haney.
She married Roger R. Koons on July 2, 1963; he preceded her in death on July 27, 2009.

She is survived by her three children: Heidi (Daniel) Lemmerman of Saint Marys; Heather (Carl) Moeller of Saint Marys; Tim (Mary) Koons of Saint Marys; by eight grandchildren: Matthew, Luke and Zachary Lemmerman; Samuel, Max, Rachel and Meg Moeller; Abigail Koons; by her twin brother, Don (Marjorie) Haney of Sidney.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Diane was a 1958 graduate of Sidney High School. She also graduate from Elkhart University. She was a lab technician and later worked at Albert Sporting Goods in Saint Marys. She was a member of Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ in Saint Marys. She enjoyed spending time with her friends playing bridge and golfing. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Funeral rites will be held 10:30 A.M. Monday, July 11, 2011, at Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ, Saint Marys, the Reverend Dr. Ed Bray, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Sunday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, where memorial donations may be given to either Grand Lake Hospice or Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ.
