Dorothy Belle Knox, 93, of 11407 Cardinal Lane, St.Marys, OH died 9:54 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Otterbein St.Marys Living Center, St.Marys, OH. 

She was born January 14, 1918 in Oak Hill, OH, the daughter of Samuel and S. Elizabeth (Keller) Oiler. 

On February 23, 1935, she married Chester Knox in Jackson, OH, who preceded her in death in May, 1983. 

She is survived by:

Son, Chester “Gene” (Debbie) Knox of St.Marys, OH

2 grandchildren: The Rev. Kevin (Carol) Doseck of Sherwood, OH and Tonya Baker of St.Marys, OH

6 great-grandchildren

7 great-great grandchildren 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Burleigh Oiler; brother, Lester Oiler; sister, Verna Kimmel; sister, Flora (Clarence) Davis; brother, Trilby Oiler and sister, Myrtle (Elmer) Holstein. 

She had worked as a physician’s assistant in Jamestown, OH for many years.  She was a homemaker. She was a member of Wayne Street Methodist Church, St.Marys Oh and a member of the Order of Eastern Star.  She enjoyed knitting, playing bridge, fishing, painting ceramics and she liked to piece quilts. 

Funeral rites are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2011 at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St.Marys, OH, with the Rev. Kevin J. Doseck, officiating.  Burial will follow in Silver Creek Township Cemetery, Jamestown, OH. 

Visitation for family and friends will be held between 6 and 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St.Marys, OH. 

Memorial contributions may be directed to either Grand Lake Hospice or WSUMC Building Fund.
