Harold E. Keller, 84, of 1028 W. High Street in St. Marys, OH died 2:00 p.m. Thursday April 21, 2011 at his residence.
He was born October 7, 1926 in Nelsonville, OH to John H. and Ada (Wrightsel) Keller.
On February 24, 1951 in Logan, OH he married Nettie N. Barker, who survives.
He is also survived by:
Son, Kim (Beth) Keller of Columbus, OH
Daughter, Kathy (Dean) Baileys of Logan, OH
3 grandsons: Bob Keller, Jim Keller, Ian Murphy
Great-granddaughter, Kimberly
Sister, Doris Conner of Logan, OH
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a graduate of Logan High School (class of 1944) and earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Ohio University in Athens, OH. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in Japan. Harold retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in St. Marys, where he was chief chemical engineer.
He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, where he sang in the choir. He was a member of American Legion Post #323 and Auglaize Buzzard Baiters, all in St. Marys. His favorite pastimes included golfing, bowling, tennis and building and flying radio controlled airplanes. He was a wonderful husband and father.
Services are scheduled 10:00 a.m. Wednesday April 27, 2011 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ 201 N. Perry Street in St. Marys, with the Rev. Dr. Ed Bray, officiating. Graveside burial rites will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Oak Grove Cemetery, in Logan, OH.
Visitation will be held 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West) in St. Marys.
