Robert M. Kantner, 59, of 818 Kimberly Drive in St.Marys, OH died 11:35 a.m. Sunday April 22, 2007 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Ohio 197, east of Moulton-Ft.Amanda Road in rural Auglaize Co.
He was born July 15, 1947 in Lima, OH to Norman L. & Mabel “Jean” (Malston) Kantner.
On January 20, 2004 in Las Vegas, NV he married JoAnn Slone, who survives.
He is also survived by: · Mother, Mabel “Jean” Kantner of Lima, OH · Daughter, Annette (Larry) Sexton of Cridersville, OH · Son, Timothy (Tracy) Kantner of Lima, OH · Son, Douglas Kantner of Lima, OH · Step-son, Jeremy Newbauer of Dayton, OH · Step-daughter, Heather (Brian) Nicholson of Dayton, OH · Step-daughter, Tara (Wesley Prater) Newbauer of St.Marys, OH · Brother, James Elsie Kantner of Lima, OH · Brother, William (Toni) Kantner of St.Marys, OH · Brother, Richard (Terry) Kantner of Wapakoneta, OH · Brother, Kenneth Kantner of Wapakoneta, OH · Brother, Daniel Kantner of Wapakoneta, OH · Ten grandchildren: McKenzie, Todd, Jeremy, Duncan, Chelsea, Kaitlin, Sydney, Jacob, Elizabeth & Aiden · Brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Charles Slone of St.Marys, OH, Shirley (James) Wicker of St.Marys, OH Wayne Slone of Hindman, KY. · Also left to mourn are his extended family of motorcycle buddies: Daryl, Snake, Dale, Chet, Bruce, Charlie, Brian, Denny, Marty, Joe, Bubba & Chance.
He was preceded in death by: father, Norman Kantner; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Holland & Vera Slone, Sr.; brother-in-law, Berlin Slone; sister-in-law, Margaret Slone.
He was a 1966 graduate of Wapakoneta Senior High School and was a veteran of the US Air Force.
“C.B.” retired after 30 years from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co, where he was a production employee. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge Aerie # 691 in Wapakoneta, and a former member of the VFW.
He was a husband and father who dearly loved his family. He also enjoyed gambling, playing cards and bingo, and especially, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Services are scheduled 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2007 at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, High Street Chapel, St.Marys, OH, with Ministers Laban Daniel and Ed Rhodes officiating. Burial, with graveside military rites will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St.Marys, OH.
