Marilyn L. Jones, 83, of 325 North Main Street, died suddenly at 11:25 A.M. Friday, January 8, 2010, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in Saint Marys.

She was born April 20, 1926, in Shreve, Ohio, the daughter Clinton and Margaret (Kelley) McDermitt.

She married DeWitt Jones on May 18, 1946; he preceded her in death.

She is survived by her four children: Robert (Sandy) Jones of Saint Marys; Bruce Jones of Hamilton, Ohio; Sharon (Charles) Schramm of Saint Marys; Kristine (Terry) Wicker of Saint Marys; by five grandchildren; one great-grandchildren; one brother, Melvin (Peggy) McDermitt of Saint Marys.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Steven Jones; a daughter-in-law, Susan Jones; a sister, Betty Rable.

Marilyn had formerly worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Saint Marys.

She was a member of the Wayne Street United Methodist Church, where she attended the Homemaker’s Sunday School Class; she had been a Sunday School teacher and had assisted in the nursery at the church. She was a member of the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed spending time with friends, baking, reading and working in her yard. Her family was her real joy.

Funeral rites will be held 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, the Reverend Steve Weatherly, officiant. Burial will follow at Salem Twp. Cemetery.

Friends may call 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be directed to the Wayne Street United Methodist Church Building Fund.
