Mildred Frances Johnson, 93, of 604 Black Oak Drive, St.Marys, OH died 6:55 p.m. Sunday, December 14, 2008 at the St.Marys Living Center, St.Marys, OH. 

She was born May 8,1915 in Akron, OH, the daughter of Alva Roy and Hannah Frances (Slaughter) McKitrick. 

She married Thomas W. Johnson on October 22, 1936; he preceded her in death on April 15, 1978. 

She is survived:

¨ Son, William (Joyce) Johnson of St.Marys, OH

¨ 9 grandchildren

¨ 16 great-grandchildren 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons: Thomas Roy Johnson and Fred Kenneth Johnson; by a daughter-in-law, Jeannine (McMillin) Johnson; by three grandchildren:  Timothy Johnson, Marcie Johnson Kkahlil and Daniel Johnson; by a great-grandchild, Elizabeth Johnson. 

Mildred graduated from the Buchtel High School in Akron, OH.  She attended the University of Akron where she was a member of Sigma Delta Theta and Alpha Delta Pi Sororities.  She had been employed at the Polsky Company of Akron for many years.  She was a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church in St.Marys and a true Christian.  She enjoyed playing bridge and knitting.  She was a dedicated and in her words, fanatical fan of the St.Marys Roughriders, Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be sorely missed by family and friends.

Funeral rites will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2008 at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral HOme,314 West High Street, St.Marys, OH, the Rev. Mary Kay Brown, officiant.  Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2008 at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be directed to the Arthritis Foundation or Wayne Street United Methodist Church.
