Roy Burton Houseworth, 87, 2125 Deerfield Court, St.Marys, OH died 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at St.Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, OH.   

He was born June 10, 1921 in Carrollton, MO, the son of Cliffton and Jettie (Evans)  Houseworth. 

He married Phoebe Leeth on October 23, 1948; she survives at the residence.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Paul Houseworth. 

Roy attended high school in Wakenda, MO.  He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, serving in the European Theatre during WWII.  He retired from the Village of New Bremen where he had served as Superintendent of the Light and Water Department. 

Roy was a member of the St.Marys Men’s Garden Club for many years; he enjoyed woodworking, fishing and coon hunting.  He was a member of American Legion Post 323 in St.Marys.

Private funeral services will be held for the family with burial to follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St.Marys, OH.
