Levern A. Homan, 82, 05607 Auglaize Co. Rd. 33-A, St.Marys, OH died 3:05 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2007 at Valley Nursing Home, St.Marys, OH.

 

He was born January 22, 1925 in Jay Co., IN to August and Catherine (Braun) Homan.

 

On November 22, 1947 he married Joy A. Buschur, who survives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Marvin and Robert Homan; sisters, Laura Homan and Esther Link; granddaughter, Dawn Hughes.

 

He was a farmer and retired production worker for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., St.Marys, OH.  He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served all of the WWII campaigns of the 101st Airborne as a paratrooper.  He received the Bronze Star with double oak leaves. His pastimes included fishing, hunting, and farming.

 

He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and VFW Post 9289, both in St.Marys, OH.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 28,2007 at Holy Rosary Church, 511 E. Spring St., St.Marys, OH, with the Rev. Anthony Cutcher, celebrant.  Burial, with graveside military rites, will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery in St.Marys, OH.

 

Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, St.Rt. 703 Chapel, St.Marys, OH.
