William G. Holtzhauer, 79, formerly of 1709 Kingsbury Drive, Saint Marys, died Sunday, June 26, 2011, at Saint Joseph Hospice in Lexington, Kentucky. 

He was born August 27, 1931, in Saint Marys, Ohio, the son of Charles and Zeitha (Richards) Holtzhauer. 

He married Carol Nolan on January 14, 1961, and she preceded him in death on March 16, 1995. 

He is survived by his children: Charles "Chip" (Dianna) Holtzhauer of Lexington, Kentucky; Michelle "Mikki" (Noel) Livanos of Saint Johns, Florida; Daniel Holtzhauer of Findlay, Ohio; by three grandchildren: Miranda Holtzhauer of Lexington, Ky; Carolyn Holtzhauer of Lexington, Ky; Cole Livanos of Saint Johns, Florida; by a sister-in-law, Nancy Holtzhauer of Saint Marys. 

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother, James "Cruiser" Holtzhauer.

He was a 1949 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School.

Bill was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Korean War. He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration, where he had been an air traffic controller in Alaska; New York; West Virginina, Hawaii and finished his career at Dayton International Airport. 

He was an avid fan of Saint Marys Roughrider football and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He and his son, Chip made stained glass for many years together. He loved to listen to big band music. 

Funeral rites will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, July 1, 2011, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, Ohio. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be directed to the Autism Awareness Foundation.
