Janie Henderson, 87, of 311 North Wayne Street, Saint Marys, Ohio, died 9:05 P.M. Saturday, May 2, 2009, at the Saint Marys Living Center, St.Marys, OH

She was born March 19, 1922, in Saint Marys, the daughter of Orville and Leitha (Heil) Rider.

She married Carl Henderson on August 19, 1939; he preceded her in death on September 13, 2006.

She is survived by one son, George (Jean) Henderson of Saint Marys; by one grandchild: Chris (Jennifer) Henderson of Toledo; by a great-granddaughter, Mallorie Henderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant daughter, Linda Henderson; by two grandchildren, Amy and Scott Henderson.

Janie was a 1939 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. She was the retired owner of Henderson’s Antiques in Saint Marys. She was well known in the area as the host of her own radio program, “Janie’s Corner”, which aired on WCSM radio for more than 25 years. She enjoyed painting, sewing, playing the piano, knitting, crocheting and reading. She was a member of the Wayne Street United Methodist Church.

Funeral rites will be held 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, Ohio. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
