George B. Henderson, 66, of 424 N. Perry Street in St.Marys, OH died 3:35 a.m. Thursday September 24, 2009 at his residence.

He was born June 3, 1943 in Celina, OH to Carl and Janie (Rider) Henderson.

On October 17, 1964 in St.Marys, OH, he married Jean A. Schwaberow, who survives.

He is also survived by:

Son Chris (Jennifer) Henderson of Toledo, OH

Daughter Linda Harsh of Scott Depot, WV

Granddaughter Mallorie Henderson of Toledo, OH

Sister-in-law Marie (Jim) Reier of St.Marys, OH

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Amy Henderson, infant son Scott Henderson, sister Linda Henderson, parents-in-law Robert & Mildred Schwaberow

He was a 1961 graduate of Memorial High School in St.Marys. Received a degree in criminal justice from the Lima Technical College.

He was retired as Chief from the City of St.Marys Police Department, after serving many years in law enforcement. Currently, he was employed by the State of Ohio as field representative for the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

He was a member of St.Paul’s United Church of Christ in St.Marys.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, woodworking and all types of family events.

Rites are planned 10:30 a.m. Monday September 28, 2009 at the Miller Funeral Home & Cremation Services 1605 Celina Road in St.Marys, with the Rev. Dr. Ed Bray, officiating. Burial, with police honors, will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery, in St.Marys.

Visitation 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday and after 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be directed to either Grand Lake Hospice or Auglaize Co. Humane Society.
