Robert H. Hegemier, 88, of 1909 Kishler Drive in St. Marys, OH died 2:15 a.m. Tuesday July 19, 2011 at St. Marys Living Center. 

He was born January 12, 1923 in Ansonia, OH to Emil and Martha (Vogel) Hegemier. 

On May 27, 1944 at Walnut Grove Methodist Church in rural Auglaize Co., OH he married Mary Lea Schamp, who survives. 

He is also survived by:

Son, Gary (Connie) Hegemier  of Earlysville, VA

Daughter, Shirley (Mark) Dine  of Hilliard, OH

Daughter, Joan Smith  of Celina, OH

Son, Jim (Tracy) Hegemier  of Ellenton, FL

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil & Martha Hegemier; great-granddaughter, Grace Lee Hegemier; sister, Anna Sanford; son-in-law, Michael Smith; brother-in-law, Louis Lininger. 

He was a 1940 graduate of Memorial High School in St. Marys. 

He was a dairy farmer and dealer of recreational vehicles, having owned Hegemier’s Trailer Sales and Service in St. Marys for a number of years. He and his wife Mary moved to Florida in 1982, where Bob continued to work in RV sales and, together, served as Park and Office management at Fountain View RV Resort in North Ft. Myers, FL. After moving to Sarasota/Bradenton area Bob continued to enjoy working in RV sales. 

He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in St. Marys. He was active in the communities in which he lived, serving on various boards and committees including church council, school board (president), agriculture boards, and trustee of a rod & gun club. 

Bob took a special interest in genealogy and spent years compiling photographs and history of his family.

Services are scheduled 10:30 a.m. Saturday July 23, 2011 at Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West) in St. Marys, with the Rev. Dr. Ed Bray, officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, near Moulton, OH.

Visitation for family and friends will be held 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
