Marie H. Hegemier, 69, of 2929 Jonathan Drive, Sidney, Ohio, died 5:40 P.M. Saturday, May 21, 2011, at her residence.

She was born August 11, 1941, in Decatur, Indiana, the daughter of Kenneth and Ruth (Holle) Ohler. 

She is survived her four children: Steve (Kimberly) Fortney of Yukon, Oklahoma; Ruth (Theodore) Henry of Wapakoneta; Jerry (Danielle) Tangeman; Janice (Marco Diaz) Hegemier of Brooklyn, New York; by nine grandchildren: Matthew, Theodore, Keenan, Kelsey, Kaleb, Jared, Allen, Aidan and August; by a sister, Marlene Fast of Ohio City; by a brother, Melvin Olher of Ardmore, Tennessee.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary Schnitz; three infant children: Thomas and Roger Hegemier and "Baby Boy" Hegemier. (

She was a  1958 graduate of Pleasant Mills High School. She retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Saint Marys and had also worked at the former Chief Supermarket in Saint Marys. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Saint Marys, where she loved attending the Wednesday night worship services.

She enjoyed crafting and going to flea markets. Her grandchildren were the love of her life. 

Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 26, 2011, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Saint Marys, the Reverend Bill Maki, officiant. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, where memorial donations may be directed to Wilson Memorial Hospice.
