Floyd R. Hecht, 85, of 14602 Lampert Road, Saint Marys, Ohio, died 12:02 A.M. Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at his residence.

He was born July 11, 1925, in Saint Marys, the son of Arthur and Ida (Hehmyer) Hecht.

He married Betty E. Taylor on June 10, 1945; she preceded him in death on June 18, 1998.

He is survived by his three children: Richard (Susan) Hecht of Dora, Alabama; Rebecca (Michael) Harvey of Saint Marys; Roger (Merle) Hecht of Woodstock, Georgia; by six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; by two sisters: Leona Schultz of Saint Marys; Esther Hecht of Bonita Springs, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Carl Hecht; a sister, Marcella Burkhart.

Floyd was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Saint Marys. He enjoyed watching sports and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed caring for his beloved dog, Curly.

Funeral rites will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, August 14, 2010, at Zion Lutheran Church in Saint Marys, the Reverend William Maki, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Friday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, where memorial donations may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church.
