William Lott Hatcher, 82, of 416 Beech Street, Saint Marys, Ohio, died 5:16 A.M. Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in Saint Marys.
He was born September 14, 1928, in Greenwich, Ohio, the son of Lewis and Josephine (Nolan) Hatcher.
He married Juanita Brandyberry on June 17, 1947 and she preceded him in death on September 25, 2002.
He is survived by his children: Byron Wayne (Janet) Hatcher of Rockford, Ohio; Kathy (Steve) Nevergall of Celina; Mike (Becci) Hatcher of Neptune, Ohio; by 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; by three sisters: Mary Martinall of Springfield, Ohio; Margaret Watkins of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; Garnet Miller of Springfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a daughter, Carla Lindemuth; a daughter, Sherry Hatcher, who died when she was one year old; by a sister, Shirley Hatcher.
Bill served in the Ohio National Guard during the Korean War, serving with Company H, 148th Infantry Batallion, 37th Division, which was based in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
He retired from the Saint Marys Cotton Mill and later worked in security at Crown Equipment Corporation.
He attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Saint Marys. He enjoyed doing lawn care work and tinkering in his garage. He was a member of Eagles Aerie 767 in Saint Marys.
Funeral rites will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, September 18. 2010, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, the Reverend Bill Drummond, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. Friday at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be directed to Grand Lake Home Health.
