Gene Amelda Hart, 82, of St.Marys, OH died 10:35 a.m. Wednesday September 26, 2007 at the Otterbein Retirement Community, near Grand Lake St.Marys.

She was born May 31, 1925 in Green Springs, OH to Leander D. & Leona M. ((Lawson) Mennell.

On June 12, 1948, she married Townsend Elliot Hart, who died June 7, 2004.

She is survived by:

• Son, Roy E. (Jane) Hart of Lancaster, OH

• Son, Russell D. (Debbie) Hart of Divide, CO

• Son' Paul Hart of Ft.Collins, CO

• 2 grandchildren: Bethany A. (Matthew) Limbert of Mt.Lebanon, PA; Stephen A. Hart of Shaker Heights, OH

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers: Jay Mennell & Dale Mennell

She and her husband were residents of Conneaut, OH & Crystal River, FL prior to their moving to the Otterbein Retirement Community.

She was a graduate of the Lakewood, OH High School and the Mather College of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH.

She was a high school English teacher in the Cleveland Public Schools system. Also, she and her husband owned and operated the P & J Variety Store in Conneaut for many years. Her memberships included Wayne St. United Methodist Church in St.Marys, and Lions Clubs International.

She enjoyed collecting and reading books, and flower gardening.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Hart are scheduled 10:00 a.m. Saturday October 6, 2007 at the Meyer Community Chapel of the Otterbein Retirement Community in St.Marys, with the Rev. Carol Sainey, officiating.  Interment will take place at the Riverside Cemetery in Cleveland, OH.
