Robert W. Harmeyer, 81, of 1802 Winston Drive in St.Marys, OH died 11:40 a.m. Sunday December 16, 2007 at the Valley Nursing Home in St.Marys. 

He was born January 26, 1926 in New Knoxville, OH to William B. & Meta (Hartung) Harmeyer. 

On June 18, 1950 at St.Paul’s UCC in New Bremen, OH, he married Donna M. Topp, who survives. 

He is also survived by:

¨ Son Robert Harmeyer, Jr. of Daytona Beach, FL

¨ Saughter Kathy Harmeyer of Fairfield, OH

¨ Son Doug (Cindy) Harmeyer of Chillicothe, OH

¨ Son Don (Patricia) Harmeyer of Underhill, VT

¨ 4 grandchildren: Dustin, Maggie, William & Henry

¨ Sister Evelyn (Dale) Grimes of New Knoxville, OH 

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

He was a 1944 graduate of New Knoxville High School and the Northwestern School of Commerce.  He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served during World War II.  He was self-employed as a public accountant for 40 years. 

He was a member of the St.Paul’s United Church of Christ in St.Marys, where he had served as a deacon and assistant superintendent of its Sunday School. He also held memberships and was past president of: St.Marys Area Chamber of Commerce, Accountancy Assoc. of Ohio and Lima Chapter of the Public Accountants Assoc. of Ohio. 

He enjoyed all types of sports.

Services are scheduled 10:00 a.m. Tuesday December 18, 2007 at the Miller - Long & Folk Funeral Home (High Street Chapel) in St.Marys, with the Rev. John Tostrick, officiating. Burial, with graveside military rites, will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery in St.Marys.

Visitation for family and friends will be held 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home on High Street.
