Donna J. Haines, 80, of 1414 Nagel Street, Saint Marys, Ohio, died 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, Saint Marys, following a brief illness.

 

She was born January 18, 1931, in Saint Marys, the daughter of Adrian “Hap” and Grace (Langsdon) Howell.

She married Richard Haines II on June 10, 1951, and he survives at the residence.
 

She is also survived by her two children: Deborah (Dennis) Stienecker of Saint Marys; Richard (Linda) Haines III of Saint Marys; by five grandchildren: Julie (Keith) Jacobs of Saint Marys; Richard (Angela) Haines IV of Columbus, Ohio; Kelli (Steve) Tebbe of Saint Marys; Angie (Geoff) Lee of Saint Marys; Krissy Haines of Saint Marys; by seven great-grandchildren; by her three sisters, Emily Leonhard of Saint Marys; Gloria Spicer of Saint Marys; Marilyn (Luke) Gibbens of Saint Marys.
 

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ronald Howell.
 

Donna was a 1949 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. She had worked at Frigidaire Corp in Dayton  and for many years was the owner-operator of the Saint Marys Dari-Whip. She was a very active member of the Wayne Street United Methodist Church in Saint Marys; she enjoyed playing cards, reading, traveling and gardening. The joy of her life was being with her children and grandchildren.
 

Funeral rites will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 6, 2011, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, the Reverend Jon Kraner, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be directed to Grand Lake Hospice.
