LaVida “Rusty” B. Grimm, 90, formerly of 400 E. Warren Street in Celina, OH died Thursday October 6, 2011 at the Gardens of Celina. 

She was born June 9, 1921 in La Carne, OH to the Rev. Gail and Gertrude (Cunningham) Van Tilbrough. 

She is also survived by:

Daughter, Peggy D. Wheeler  of Celina, OH

Daughter, Madelyn C. (Edward) Pfister  of Huntertown, IN

Son, Rick A. Grimm  of Franklin, OH

12  grandchildren

Numerous  great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren 

She was preceded in death by her parents, The Rev. Gail and Gertrude Van Tilbrough; husband, Robert “Lloyd” Grimm; sister, Juanita “Bonnie” Lehman; sister, Lucille Lehman. 

She had worked at both the  Koch’s Restaurant in St. Marys and Carl Wright’s Truck Stop in Celina. She and her husband also operated a business for dressmaking and clothes tailoring in Celina for a number of years.  Her hobbies included cooking and painting ceramics. Gardening was a favorite pastime of hers. She was known for the beautiful roses she grew and the vegetables that she shared from her garden with her neighbors.   

She was a member of a local citizen’s band radio club, using the handle, “Rusty.”

Funeral Services were held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St.Marys, OH with burial following at Elm Grove Cemetery.
