Larry E. Gottschalk, 63, of 506 S. Ash Street in St.Marys, OH died 1:15 p.m. Wednesday November 18, 2009 at St.Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, OH.

H was born December 16, 1945 in Mercer Co., OH to William and Grace (Mohrman) Gottschalk.

On June 3, 1966 in St.Marys, OH, he married Sharon A. Slemmer, who survives.

He is also survived by:

son James “Jamey” (Jamie) Gottschalk of St.Marys, OH

grandson Austin Gottschalk of St.Marys, OH

nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Norman Gottschalk; brother, C. Eugene Gottschalk.

He was a1964 graduate of Memorial High School in St.Marys.  He was a veteran of the US Army, having served during the Viet Nam era. He owned and operated Gottschalk Construction Co. in St.Marys, since 1973.

He was a member of St.Paul’s United Church of Christ and American Legion Post # 323, both in St.Marys.

He enjoyed hunting.

Funeral rites are scheduled 10:30 a.m. Monday November 23, 2009 at Miller Funeral Home & Cremation Service 1605 Celina Road in St.Marys, with the Rev. Dr. Ed Bray, officiating. Burial, with military graveside honors, will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, in St.Marys.

Visitation for family and friends will be held 2 - 6 p.m. Sunday and after 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home on Celina Road.
