Robert W. Goodwin, 68, of 4A Defiance Commons in Wapakoneta, OH died Sunday August 1, 2010 at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, OH.

He was born August 4, 1941 in Lima, OH to Robert E. and Grace (Sollman) Goodwin.

On November 15, 1983 in Celina, OH he married Lorraine “Anne” Temple-Becker, who survives.

He is also survived by:

son, Jeff Davis of Alaska

son, Bobby Goodwin of Sidney, OH

daughter, Louise Goodwin of Sidney, OH

son, John Goodwin of Texas

daughter, Cindy (John) Byrd of Lima, OH

step-son, H. Todd Becker of Celina, OH

numerous grandchildren, including Toby Becker of Celina, OH

father, Robert E. Goodwin of St. Marys, OH

brother, Gary (Bonnie) Goodwin of Wapakoneta, OH

He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace Goodwin.

He was a graduate of Memorial High School in St. Marys and Northwestern Business College in Lima.

He retired from the Wright State University Lake Campus, near Celina, where he worked as a custodian. He had also worked as a guard for Burns Security Co. in Dayton, OH.

He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in New Bremen, OH.

His favorite pastime was walking his pet dog, “Peppy.”

Rites for Mr. Goodwin are scheduled 1:00 p.m. Saturday August 7, 2010 at Miller - Long & Folk Funeral Home 314 W. High Street in St. Marys, with the Rev. Judy Ball, officiating.

Visitation for family and friends will be held 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
