James A. Glass, 71, 204 Mercer St., Celina, OH died Saturday, November 17, 2007 at the Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born September 1, 1936 in Celina, OH to Robert and Mary Margaret (Silvers) Glass.
On October 25, 1957, he married Doris C. Eschenbrunner, who survives.
He is also survived by:
¨ Son, Dennis Glass, Celina, OH
¨ Daughter, Catherine (Bill) McAllister, Fostoria, OH
¨ Daughter, Cynthia Randolph, Celina, OH
¨ 4 grandchildren: Heather (Curt) Hinkle, Tony Randolph, Jay McAllister, and Mary Ellen McAllister
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Margaret Glass and half-sisters, Rita Craft and JoAnn Smith.
He was a 1954 graduate of Memorial High School, St.Marys, OH and had attended Bowling Green State University.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict.
He was a retired production employee of the former Avco-New Idea Corp. in Coldwater, OH, where he had worked in the machine shop.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Celina, OH where he served as an elder and deacon. He had also served his church as custodian for many years.
He was a high school football referee for 25 years. His pastimes included reading and rooting for The Ohio State University Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals football teams. He played Santa Claus for many years in Celina.
Services are scheduled 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church in Celina, Oh, the Reverend Dave Dennis officiating. Private family burial rites will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery in St.Marys, OH.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St.Marys, OH and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Carpet Fund at the Church.
