He was born December 31, 1946, in Lima, Ohio, the son of Woodrow and Helen (Roush) Frey. They preceded him in death.

He married Connie Luedeke on February 6, 1971; she survives at the residence.

He is survived by his two children: Holly (Bob) Meeker of Celina; Shane Frey of Celina; by four grandchildren: Zachary, Colby, Madison and Mackenzie Meeker; by one brother: Rick (Rita) Frey of Cincinnati; by a sister: Kathy (Lynn) Bowen of Saint Marys; by two half-sisters: Janet (Don) Ake of Saint Marys; Sylvia (Jerry) Robinson of Delta, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by one brother, Frederick Bilger.

Gary attended Saint Marys Memorial High School and was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Vietnam War. He retired from Crown Equipment Corporation, where he had worked for more than 25 years.

He enjoyed casino gambling and attending dirt track races; he also enjoyed fishing and boating. He was a member of Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ in Saint Marys.

Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 27, 2008, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, the Reverend Ed Bray, officiant. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Sunday at the Miller Funeral Home, where American Legion Post 323 and VFW Post 9289 will conduct memorial services at 7:00 P.M.
