Vera Lee Frasure, 80, of 02888 Arnold Road, St.Marys, OH died 1:54 p.m. Thursday, August 28, 2008 at the St.Marys Living Center. 

She was born August 14, 1928 in Wapakoneta, OH, the daughter of Leo and Ruby (Bonifield) Engel. 

She married Bill Frasure on November 11, 1949; he preceded her in death on December 27,2001. 

She is survived by:

¨ Step-daughter, Billy (Vaughn) Engle, Celina, OH

¨ Jo (Jay) Hammond, Portage, MI

¨ 9 step-grandchildren

¨ 9 step-great-grandchildren

¨ 1 step-great-great-grandson

¨ Many cousins

¨ 2 step-grandsons who ere especially helpful in providing care and comfort to her:  Lonny Hitchen and Matt Engle 

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. 

Vera retired after 35 years of service at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in St.Marys, OH.  She bred and raised pure Arabian horses and had several champions, including an international Top Five.  Through the horses she was able to travel to England, Scotland, Egypt and Canada.

Private family burial rites will be held at Elm Grove Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Auglaize County Humane Society.
