James H. Folk, Jr., 56, of 1809 Fenway Court in St.Marys, OH died 2:00 p.m. Tuesday July 3, 2007 at his residence, following an extended illness.

 

He was born April 19, 1951 in Celina, OH to James H. & M. Jeanne (Carey) Folk.

 

On February 14, 1998, he married Peggy Jo Brown-Hance, who survives.

Jim was preceded in death by his mother, M. Jeanne Folk and brother-in-law, Richard Gaut.

 

He was a 1969 graduate of Memorial High School in St.Marys, attended Bowling Green State University and was a graduate of both Edison State Community College and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science.

 

He was employed in the product engineering department at Honda of America in Anna, OH. A licensed embalmer and funeral director, he served families for many years with the Long & Folk Funeral Homes in Wapakoneta and St.Marys.He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council # 1492 (4th degree) and the St.Marys Outing Club (Idelwild).

 

Jim was a meticulous and detail-oriented individual, who cared deeply for his family and friends. An avid Buckeyes supporter, he attending countless OSU football games.

 

 

Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled 11:00 a.m. Saturday July 7, 2007 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church 511 E. Spring Street in St.Marys. Burial will follow at the Gethsemane Cemetery in St.Marys. Visitation will be held 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 p.m. Friday and 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Miller Funeral Home (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St.Marys.

 

Memorial contributions may be directed to either: JTDM Hospital Foundation, State of the Heart Hospice Program, or the OSU-James Cancer Hospital research department.
