Zane C. Faurot, 84, of 507 West German Street, New Knoxville, Ohio,died 12:40 A.M. Friday, April 29, 2011, at the Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home.

He was born March 23, 1927, in Monticello,Ohio, the son of Lester and Velira (Fisher) Faurot. 

He married  Grace Eversman on July 2, 1950 and she survives at the residence. 

He is survived by one sister, Phyllis (Bill) Eley of Haines City, Florida; by a niece, Kayleen (Bev) of Columbus, Ohio;by two nephews: Robin Schroeder of Delaware, Ohio; Joe (Marylee) Schroeder of Martha's Vineyard, Mass; by a sister-in-law, Janice (Charles) Schroeder of Delaware, Ohio; by several  great-nieces and nephews, including: Laura (Rob) Standish of Chattanooga, Tennessee; Alexia Schroeder, Michael Schroeder, Whitney Schroeder and Samantha Schroeder.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, Doyt Faurot; by a nephew, Michael Schroeder. 

Zane was 1945 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Medical Corps during WWII. 

He retired from the New Idea Company in Coldwater, Ohio and was also the owner of Faurot Generator Service in New Knoxville for many years.

He was a motorcycle enthusiast, enjoyed boating and camping and was a licensed pilot. He was a HAM Radio operator.

He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Lima. 

Funeral rites will be held 12:00 noon Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, Ohio. Private family burial rites will be held.

Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be given to the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
