Otis Fannon, 83, of 902 Kimberly Drive, Saint Marys, died 12:20 P.M. Sunday, January 3, 2010, at the Golden Living Center in Saint Marys.

He was born February 13, 1926, in Saint Marys, the son of Otis and and Nora (Koehn) Fannon.

He married Charlene Weimert on April 3, 1948; she preceded him in death on August 4, 2007.

He is survived by his children: Sandra (Roger) Wiehe of Celina; Pamela (Thomas) Stoker of Celina; Sharon (William) Woodbern of Riegelwood, North Carolina; Jeff (Holly) Fannon of Sidney, Ohio; by 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; by a sister, Ruth (Wilfred) Liette of Saint Marys; by a son-in-law, Tim Collins of Sunset Harbor, North Carolina; by a special friend, Mary Dull of Saint Marys.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a daughter: Patricia Collins; by four grandchildren: Danny Hodge; Chad Stoker; Lex Collins and Scott Hodge; by a great-granddaughter, Kayla Ramsey.

Otis was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served during WWII; he was wounded in Okinawa, Japan.
He retired from the Stamco Tool Company, where he had been a machinist for 35 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 323 and VFW Post 9289, both in Saint Marys. He was an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where he had served as a Eucharistic Minister, visiting local nursing homes.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held l1:00 A.M. Thursday, January 7, 2010, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Saint Marys, the Reverend Anthony Cutcher, celebrant. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, where memorial donations may be directed to either the Auglaize County Cancer Association or Saint Peter’s Neurological Center.
