John Warren Elston, 61, of 111 S. Wayne Street in St.Marys, OH died 7:30 p.m. Thursday June 26, 2008 at the Ohio State University Hospitals in Columbus.

He was born July 9, 1946 in Waverly, NY to John & Jean (Cassler) Elston.

On November 13, 1965 at St.James Catholic Church in Waverly, NY, he married Nancy Carol Ault, who survives.

• 11 grandchildren: Danny Irons, Jackie Long, Alexis Long, Tyler Kovar, Shelbee Kovar, Calvin Powell, Logan Peterson, Mason Meyers, Reese Peterson, Olivia Elston, Sophia Elston

• brother Jeff (Lisa) Elston of Elmira, NY

• sister Diane (Jim) Smith of Waverly, NY

• sister Mary (Mike) Ward of Elmira, NY

• sister Nora (George) Sheeley of Elmira, NY

• sister Judy Smith of Elmira, NY

• sister Linda (Jack) Freeman of Elmira, NY

• mother-in-law Rosemary Ault of Elmira, NY

He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Jean Elston, granddaughter Katherine Jane Irons, father-in-law John Ault.

Mr. Elston was a carpenter and enjoyed woodworking as a hobby. A devoted family man, his greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Private funeral services will be held for Mr. Elston.

Arrangements are being completed with the Miller Funeral Home (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St.Marys.
