Bernice V. Duncan, 81, of 1708 Winston Drive in St.Marys, OH died 7:30 a.m. Saturday April 12, 2008 at the Golden Living Center (Valley) in St.Marys, OH. 

She was born July 24, 1926 in Ringstead, IA to Carl & Anna (Skoll) Jorgensen. 

On November 24, 1951, she married Dale R. Duncan, who died December 26, 1978. 

She is survived by:

¨ Daughter, Aileen Duncan of St.Marys, OH

¨ Son, Douglas (Kathy) Duncan of St.Marys, OH

¨ Son, Mark (Shirley) Duncan of Geneva, IN

¨ Daughter, Barbara (Dane) Gilmore of St.Marys, OH

¨ 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren 

She was preceded in death by her parents Carl & Anna Jorgensen; husband, Dale Duncan; brother, Jerry Jorgensen; and her granddaughter, Cindy Hodge.

She was a graduate of the Ringstead, IA High School.

She retired as a clerk from the former G.C. Murphy & Co. in downtown St.Marys. She was a member of the St.Paul’s United Church of Christ, Eagles Lodge Aerie # 767 Auxiliary VFW Post # 9289 Auxiliary and Hawthorne Chapter #119 Order of Eastern Star, all in St.Marys. 

She was an avid sports fan and was very involved in the lives of her grandchildren.

Services are scheduled 11:00 a.m. Wednesday April 16, 2008 at the Miller Funeral Home (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St.Marys, with the Rev. Jim Sweigart and the Rev. Michael Spaulding, officiating. Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery in St.Marys.

Visitation for family and friends will be held 2 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home on Ohio St. Rt. 703 West.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the Auglaize School in New Bremen, OH.
