Charles “Chuck” Dotson, 82, of 1015 Hendricks Avenue in Saint Marys, died 11:37 A.M. Tuesday, September 11, 2007, at the Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan, after suffering an apparent heart attack.

He was born May 7, 1925, in Mendon, Ohio, the son of Clarence and Edith (Snyder) Dotson.

He married Marie Mobley on December 24, 1948; she preceded him in death on April 25, 1994. He then married Dorothy Henegar Lawson on January 1, 1995; she survives at the residence.

He is survived by one son, Mark (Heidi) Dotson of Saint Marys; by five grandchildren: Lee Dotson of Saint Marys; Shelly Dotson of Wapakoneta; Nathan, Noah and Jacob Dotson, all of Saint Marys; by three great-grandchildren; by one sister, Phyllis Furr of Newport Richey, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Warren, Paul, John and Fred Dotson; by a step-son, Allen Lawson.

Chuck was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during WWII.

Chuck retired from the Hayes Albion Corporation. He was also a truck driver for the Ted Ruck Company. He was currently employed at Bud’s Chevrolet in Saint Marys.

He was instrumental in the formation of several churches in the area, including Hillsdale Baptist Church and Saint Marys Missionary Baptist Church, both in Saint Marys, and the Victory Center Church of God in Wapakoneta, where he was currently a member.

He was a member of American Legion Post 323 in Saint Marys. He enjoyed camping in his spare time.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 15, 2007, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, Pastor Scott Landis officiating. Military burial rites will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Friday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, where memorial donations may be directed to Victory Center Church of God.
